  • Product Description
  • A flange is a connecting part used to join shafts or pipe ends; it can also be used on equipment inlets and outlets to connect two pieces of equipment, such as a reducer flange.

A flange connection or flange joint is a detachable connection consisting of a flange, gasket, and bolts forming a combined sealing structure. Pipe flanges are flanges used in pipe fittings and equipment flanges are used for equipment inlets and outlets. Flanges have holes for bolts to connect the two flanges tightly, with a gasket used for sealing. Flanges are divided into threaded (screw) flanges, welded flanges, and clamp flanges. Flanges are used in pairs; low-pressure pipes can use threaded flanges, while those with pressures above 4 kg use welded flanges. A sealing gasket is placed between two flange discs, then fastened with bolts. Flanges of different pressures have different thicknesses and use different bolts. Pumps and valves also have corresponding flange shapes at the connection points with pipes, also called flange connections. Generally, any connecting parts connected and sealed with bolts around two flat surfaces are called "flanges", such as ventilation pipe connections; such parts can be called "flange parts". However, this connection is only part of a piece of equipment; for example, it is not appropriate to call a pump a "flange part" when it's connected to a flange. Smaller components, such as valves, may be called "flange parts".
